Our Story
Family run since 2018
The story behind the shop
Hartington Farm Shop & Café is more than a place to shop or have a bite to eat. It's become a meeting place for the village and everyone passing through — somewhere to catch up with friends, relax after a walk, or take a break while exploring the Peak District.

Celebrating local flavours
A family from just over the hill
In 2018 the shop was taken over by a family from the neighbouring village of Onecote — Marion and Ian, and their daughters Joanne, Hollie, Megan and Bethany — bringing many years of hospitality between them.
What began as a passion for good food and local sourcing has grown into a thriving business with an important place in village life. Every product on the shelves and every dish from the kitchen reflects a careful choice to support trusted suppliers — local dairy farms, artisan bakers, family-run producers and independent growers.
Rather than mass-produced goods, we look for products with real stories behind them. Many have travelled only a short distance to reach us, which means food that's fresher, full of flavour and closely connected to the countryside around us.
